The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe Summary
The four siblings Susan, Peter, Edmund and Lucy were sent with their professor Kirke to live in a different country as World War II was taking place. As the children went to the place and got into the house they started exploring it and it was a rainy day. The youngest of the siblings named as Lucy came across a very huge wardrobe and as she saw it she got excited, she went in to explore the wardrobe and as she went inside she came across Faun Tumnus who was surprised to see a human being.
As she meets Tumnus, she got to know that she has stepped into Narnia and was offered a cup of tea there, while they had tea Tumnus told Lucy that this place all wintery all the time and there is no Christmas here, on the other hand she was told that Tumnus is a servant of White witch who is evil and has selected him to catch the human beings, this thought made Lucy upset and she asked him to release her and her wish was granted.
Finally Lucy came out of Narnia and told about her experience to her siblings whom they didn’t believe and told her that she just went for a few seconds and not hours. However, every other day she was being teased by Edmund for her imaginary thoughts on the wardrobe and one day he saw Lucy vanishing in the wardrobe and he followed her too. When he followed Lucy he also entered Narnia but couldn’t see Lucy instead came across White Witch. The White Witch introduced herself to Edmund and also treated him with some great Turkish delights however these delights were used as greed to feed Edmund and convince him to bring his other siblings to meet the witch. She introduced herself as the queen of Narnia and not the witch which was to deceive Edmund.
As Edmund was coming back on the border between Narnia and the world of humans Edmund met Lucy and she told him about the witch to which Edmund refused that there is ant relationships between queen and witch. As Edmund was back to his human world at the same time he was just engrossed in the thoughts of Turkish Delights which he wanted to eat. Edmund was a source of reliance for Lucy that he would now support her story about Narnia but actually Edmund didn’t support her and rather Peter and Susan discussed the imaginary thoughts of Lucy with their Professor. While they were arguing about the views of Lucy Professor told them that Lucy is not lying and is telling the truth.
One fine day the children decided to hide in the wardrobe because they wanted to keep away from some guests and the housekeeper and they suddenly found themselves lost in Narnia. Lucy takes everyone to the home of Tumnus but there they found a note that Tumnus is being arrested and Lucy then realized that the witch would have done this after knowing that he spared Lucy. Lucy with her siblings thought of releasing Tumnus from the witch and came across Mr. Beaver, who took them to his house and told them that they can’t do anything to release Tumnus and told them they should see Aslan, a lion.
The lion was made to be the main figure of Narnia. All the children were pleased to meet Aslan but Edmund wanted to inform White Witch about the arrival of Mr. Beaver and Aslan. The witch wanted to kill the children and she started to plot the killing. The witch was also at the same time recalling the prophecy that one day this place of Narnia will be captured by four humans beings and she will be kicked out. This thought was bothering here like anything and she wanted this to be avoided at any cost.
The Aslan Lion was to be available on the stone table where the children were heading with Beaver, however they wanted to reach the table before the witch and while they were moving the came across numerous different changed on the seasons. Initially they came across Santa Claus who told them that the spell of witch that says “always winter and never Christmas” exists no more. The snow started to melt and spring took its place. The spring as took place it was impossible for the witch to reach the stone table before children because her sledge was not working anymore. The witch at this point treats Edmund very badly.
The three siblings went to see Aslan they were very pleased to see him and felt much comfortable in the presence of Aslan, Aslan also promised them that he will be helping them to save their sibling Edmund. Aslan also took Peter to show him the castle where he is going to be king. At the time they were talking with Aslan they heard that Susan is blowing the magical horn signaling a danger. As Peter reaches there he saw that Susan has been attacked by a wolf, Peter killed the wolf with the sword which was given to him by Father Christmas. After the death of that wolf, Aslan also sees that there was another wolf vanishing in the thicket, Aslan sent his followers after the wolf hoping they may find out about the witch.
The witch was all set to kill Edmund when Aslan and team arrived there, they somehow rescued Edmund but the witch disappeared and went off being the part of the landscape. Edmund was very excited to see is siblings and at the same time also accepted the fact that the witch was an evil person. When witch came into contact with Aslan she said that Edmund is a traitor and deserves to be killed because the rule of Narnia is the death of traitor. Aslan agreed to this thought of witch and came to a compromise with her to which the witch was very happy and at the same time Aslan was very upset.
Susan and Lucy felt that there is something wrong and Aslan is very sad and they were not able to sleep due to this and they even notice that Aslan has vanished. When the two sisters started their search for Aslan they had to leave the pavilion and Aslan told them that they have to leave when they are being instructed by Aslan. The three of them went towards the stone table and there Aslan told them to leave. The two girls hid behind the bushes and saw that the witch with her army killed Aslan which as per the witch was a sacrifice made by Aslan for the life of Edmund.
Throughout the night the girls stay with the dead body of aslant and soon heard a noise which belonged t the breaking of stone table and Aslan rose behind it once again and carried the two siblings to the castle of the witch where they freed the prisoners that have been turned to stone. The Peter’s army was exhausted after fighting with the witch and its followers but Aslan’s army helped them and they defeated witch and its followers. Aslan then releases Edmund who was being stoned by the witch, the children were then given the throne of Narnia and Aslan disappeared from there.
They become adults and ruled Narnia for a longer period of time. They then while hunting for magical white stag arrived at the border between Narnia and the world of humans and they came to this world back. As they came back to this world they realized that no time has ever passed and they are still there, they told the entire scenario to their professor who assured them that they will one day go back to Narnia.
